Part A – Modular Furniture & Hardware Maintenance

Applicable to all Hauspire-manufactured furniture and fittings covered under warranty

1. General Usage Guidelines

Maintain ambient indoor temperature between 20°C–30°C and relative humidity between 40%–60% at all times.

Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, UV rays, or heat-emitting appliances (ovens, heaters, irons, etc.) near cabinetry.

Keep all modular surfaces dry at all times. Even small water spills, condensation, or steam accumulation must be wiped immediately with a soft, dry cloth.

Ensure that air conditioning or ventilation is used regularly to avoid moisture buildup.

Do not drag or rest heavy objects (like water bottles, cookers, appliances) on shutters, countertops, or laminate surfaces.

Never sit, step, or lean on countertops, cabinets, or drawers.

2. Cleaning & Maintenance

Use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to clean laminate or acrylic surfaces. Immediately wipe dry.

For glossy finishes, use only non-abrasive, pH-neutral cleaners (diluted dish soap is acceptable).

Avoid all harsh chemicals, acidic agents, detergent powders, bleach, petroleum solvents, alcohol-based sprays, and furniture waxes.

Do not use abrasive sponges, steel wool, or scrubbing pads.

Never allow standing water on floors, near furniture plinths, or under sink units.

Avoid using excessive water or wet mops around skirting or bottom cabinets.

3. Hinges, Channels, and Hardware Care

Do not slam drawers, shutters, or lift-ups. Use soft-close operation.

Periodically (every 60 days) check screws, bolts, and fittings for tightness.

Apply silicone lubricant spray once every 90 days to hinges and drawer channels for smooth functioning.

Keep hinges and channels free from dust and grease — clean gently with a soft dry brush.

Never hang on wardrobe shutters or lean objects against them.

Ensure even load distribution in drawers and shelves; do not overload beyond manufacturer's specified weight.

Keep all hardware dry — rusting due to moisture, seepage, or spills is not considered a manufacturing defect.

4. Kitchen Modules (Special Conditions)

Maintain proper chimney suction while cooking to prevent heat and steam buildup.

Avoid placing hot utensils, pans, or vessels directly on laminates or countertops.

Always wipe kitchen shutters and countertops dry after use.

Prevent accumulation of oil, grease, or soot — clean weekly with diluted mild detergent solution.

Avoid heavy impact on shutter corners; handle drawers gently.

Inspect sink units regularly for water leakage or dampness inside the cabinet.

5. Wardrobes, Storage & Bedroom Furniture

Keep wardrobe interiors ventilated. Open shutters occasionally if the room is unused.

Use silica gel or dehumidifier pouches inside wardrobes to avoid moisture or fungus.

Do not store wet clothes, footwear, or damp materials inside cabinets.

Avoid using naphthalene balls or insect repellents directly on wood surfaces — they may discolor laminates.

Ensure that hanging rods, shelves, and drawers are not overloaded.

6. Glass, Mirror, and Acrylic Components

Clean with a soft microfiber cloth using glass cleaner spray (ammonia-free).

Do not use rough cloths or paper towels — they can cause micro scratches.

Avoid direct water flow on mirror edges and acrylic panels.

7. Electrical & Lighting Components (within Modular Units)

Switch off power before cleaning or replacing lights integrated into modular furniture.

Do not exceed recommended wattage for LED or strip lighting.

Protect drivers and profiles from water or humidity.

8. Environmental & Seasonal Care

Maintain stable humidity indoors, especially during monsoon and summer.

Use a dehumidifier in areas prone to seepage or dampness.

Seal all balcony doors and windows to prevent rainwater seepage near furniture.

Avoid switching off power supply for extended periods — condensation can cause warping.

9. Long-Term Storage or Absence

If the property will be unoccupied for more than 15 days:

  • Keep ventilation on (fan or dehumidifier mode).
  • Avoid covering furniture with plastic sheets.
  • Keep silica gel packs inside cabinets.
  • Request a site caretaker to inspect monthly for humidity or leakage signs.

10. Annual Maintenance (Recommended by Hauspire)

Once every 12 months, schedule a professional inspection for:

  • Re-alignment of shutters and drawers
  • Tightening of screws and hardware
  • Cleaning of hinge channels and lubrication
  • General structural check

11. Disclaimer

Failure to follow the above maintenance practices may result in reduced product life, discoloration, surface swelling, or hardware malfunction. Non-adherence to these guidelines will render any warranty claim ineligible for coverage.

Part B – Non-Modular & Excluded Elements Maintenance

Applicable to all on-site works, third-party materials, and decorative finishes not covered under warranty

1. Painting & Wall Finishes

Use only mild soap water for spot cleaning; do not scrub.

Avoid contact with oils, sprays, or aerosol products.

Repainting may be required every 2–3 years depending on exposure.

Prevent wall dampness by repairing seepage immediately.

2. Wallpaper & Wall Panels

Keep dry; do not wipe with wet cloth.

Use only soft dusting or vacuum suction for cleaning.

Do not expose to direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Ensure indoor humidity is controlled — moisture causes peeling or bubbling.

3. False Ceiling / POP

Do not hang or suspend any object (light, fan, hook) from false ceiling unless structurally supported.

Repainting or patching may be required due to thermal expansion or minor cracks.

Avoid water leakage from above ceiling — will cause stains and sagging.

Do not access lofts or false ceiling panels without professional assistance.

4. Lighting Fixtures

Use only recommended LED bulbs; avoid halogen or high-heat sources.

Keep fixtures clean and free from dust using a soft, dry cloth.

Avoid moisture contact with electrical components.

Replace faulty bulbs immediately; flickering may cause driver failure.

5. Electrical Fittings

Do not overload circuits or use multi-plug extensions for heavy appliances.

Ensure grounding and earthing are maintained.

Keep switches dry; moisture ingress may cause short circuits.

6. Glass, Mirrors, & Accessories

Clean gently with soft lint-free cloth.

Avoid heavy impact or vibration.

Do not use harsh chemicals on metal frames or mirrors.

7. Soft Furnishings

Regularly vacuum curtains, blinds, and rugs.

Avoid washing unless label permits.

Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading.

8. Loose Furniture & Site-Made Units

Avoid dragging furniture; lift and move carefully.

Keep wooden legs protected from water and mopping.

Polish wooden surfaces every 6–8 months.

Tighten screws periodically.

9. Appliances & Fixtures

Follow manufacturer's manual for each appliance.

Use correct electrical load and surge protection.

Clean with mild detergent and soft cloth only.

10. General Preventive Measures

Inspect regularly for seepage, pest activity, or structural cracks.

Maintain clean drainage and ventilation to avoid humidity.

Use insect screens to prevent termite entry.

Immediately report any sign of water leakage to maintenance personnel.
