TV Unit & Storage Design in Pune

The TV wall is the first thing anyone sees in your living room, and the piece most likely to be over-designed.

It's a storage problem wearing a design costume

The reason TV units go wrong is that they get drawn as a feature and used as a cupboard. A living room in a Pune flat has nowhere else to put anything — so whatever you build here will end up holding the router, the games, the documents, the things without a home. Design it as storage that happens to have a television on it, and it works for ten years. Design it as a feature wall, and you'll be hiding the router behind a plant.

Height, and the mistake everyone makes

The television gets mounted too high, almost universally, because it looks balanced on a drawing and wrong on a sofa. The centre of the screen should be roughly at seated eye level — around 100–110cm from the floor for most people. It looks low in the render. It is correct in the room.

Questions

TV Units & Storage, answered.

Typically ₹35,000–90,000 depending on the run, the finish and how much of it is closed storage. It's the piece where an honest designer will save you money — closed storage below, open shelving above, and no back-lit stone.
